Albus Dumbledore seemed to set Harry up for death in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but clues from earlier in the series show he always knew the boy would survive. The headmaster was always something of a question mark in the Harry Potter series since it was never quite clear what he did or didn’t know. Still, Harry never doubted that Dumbledore was on his side—until after the headmaster’s death when Harry found himself drowning in misinformation. It seemed official that Dumbledore didn’t care once Harry learned he must sacrifice himself to defeat Voldemort, but that wasn’t quite the case.
