The accuracy of Vikings has been called into question by a weapons expert. The series, which premiered on the History channel in 2013, is based on a variety of Norse sagas revolving around Viking chieftain Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and his descendants. The massive ensemble cast of the series also included Katheryn Winnick, Jessalyn Gilsig, Gustaf Skarsgård, Gabriel Byrne, Donal Logue, Alyssa Sutherland, Alexander Ludwig, Kevin Durand, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Ragga Ragnars, and Ray Stevenson.
