8 Biggest Changes Jack Ryan’s TV Show Made To James Greer

Amazon’s Jack Ryan series instituted a number of changes to the characters first introduced in Tom Clancy’s spy novels, and many of these changes involve Jack’s mentor, James Greer. From the first novel’s adaptation to the screen, Greer has always been a mentor figure for Ryan, and that was also true for the Prime Video TV series. Yet Jack Ryan did not directly adapt any of Tom Clancy’s novels, instead opting to tell original stories keeping with the spirit of the characters created by the author, and therefore adjustments were essential.
