After so many years there are still certain things that only die-hard fans of The Simpsons know. Matt Groening’s hit animated series has been a television mainstay for decades, and now The Simpson’s 35th season is around the corner. Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, and Maggie Simpson are pop culture cornerstones, and as lore would have it, Groening developed the series on the fly while originally pitching an entirely different premise, named all the characters after members of his own family, and decided to make the characters yellow, so they would be more visually arresting to viewers channel surfing for their next show.
