WORLD CUP QUALIFIER: We’re Prepared To Beat South Africa – Finidi George

Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George has said that the team knows the importance of winning their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against South Africa.

The highly anticipated encounter is scheduled to hold at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo, Akwa Ibom state on Friday by 8pm.

Nigeria has accumulated just two points from their opening two games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe and need a victory against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa to give themselves a chance of making to the 2026 world cup in the USA.

While addressing reporters, Finidi George admitted his team has put behind their clash at the 2023 AFCON semi final and are condemned to beat South Africa.

He said;

“We’re prepared for the game. The players are focused, they have really worked hard to expect victory on Friday.

“We’ve put behind the AFCON clash in Ivory Coast. The AFCON and World Cup qualifiers are two different things. But overall, we’re condemned to win”.
