Tension As Villagers Block Katsina Highway, Set Bonfire Over Bandit Attacks

Residents of Wurna village in Katsina State took to setting bonfires and blocking the Katsina-Dutsinma highway in response to a series of bandit attacks.

This action caused travel disruptions, with some vehicles having to find alternative routes through bush paths.

Despite attempts to reach the Katsina State Police Command’s spokesperson for comments, no response was received.

According to a resident named Abdulkarim, the village has been experiencing relentless bandit attacks for the past four days, leading to a state of constant unrest.

Security forces are currently deployed to restore calm and prevent further disorder.
