SO SAD!!!!Eight Bodies Recovered, Other Passengers Rescued In Niger Boat Mishap
A tragic boat mishap in Tungan Leda, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger state, claimed the lives of at least eight passengers out of a total of 100.
The boat, departing from Dugga Mashaya in Dugga ward and bound for Wara market in Kebbi State, capsized on Sunday.
The Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) reported the recovery of eight bodies, consisting of five females and three males, with ongoing rescue operations for other passengers.
Governor Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago expressed condolences, urging relevant authorities to enforce safety measures in water transportation.
Gov.Bago commended rescue efforts, emphasizing the need to address the increasing incidents of boat mishaps in the state.
