SO SAD!!!! Generator Fumes Kill 7 Friends Inside Studio In Bayelsa
In Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, a tragic incident unfolded on Mechanic Road in the Amarata area, leaving the community mourning.
Seven friends were discovered dead in a music studio apartment, their bodies decomposing. The studio, owned by one of the deceased, Akpos Barakubo, became a silent scene of sorrow.
The friends, mostly undergraduate students from Niger Delta University, had been working late into the night due to the erratic power supply in the state.
They had relied on a generator to keep the studio running. Exhausted from their work, they decided to take a break and rest in the apartment.
However, tragedy struck as generator fumes filled the confined space while they slept. By morning, six had succumbed to the toxic gas, and one was rushed to the hospital but later passed away.
The neighborhood was stunned by the loss, with residents pointing fingers at the government and the power distribution company for the inadequate electricity supply. They lamented the irony of paying bills for a service they rarely received.
Calls for better infrastructure and consistent power supply echoed through the community, fueled by the preventable loss of young lives.
The police promised further investigation into the incident as the area remained cordoned off, and the bodies were taken to the mortuary.
