Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, widely known as Simi, opened up about her relationship with her husband, Adekunle Gold, during a recent interview on the “Tea with Taypod” podcast on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

In the discussion, the artist, who is also a mother, shared that she had reservations initially about marrying another musician. At the time of their initial connection, Simi was unaware of Adekunle Gold’s musical career.

Simi recounted that Adekunle Gold, who was a fan then, had sent her messages on Facebook, but she did not respond to them. Interestingly, she later discovered that Adekunle Gold was skilled in Photoshop when they first met.

Despite her initial hesitation about marrying a fellow singer, Simi emphasized her deep love for music, which eventually led her to pursue a career in the industry.

During the podcast, the Jamb Question hitmaker announced her plans to release an album later in the year. The talented songwriter also identified herself as a feminist, advocating for women’s freedom to choose their life paths.

She expressed the belief that every woman should be empowered to make decisions about their lives, emphasizing the importance of allowing women the freedom to pursue diverse lifestyles, whether as a career-focused individual or a dedicated homemaker.

Simi, who has been featured on Alicia Keys’ tour, highlighted the significance of true freedom in allowing women to make choices aligned with their desires and aspirations.
