AFCON 2025 Scheduling
The scheduling for the 35th edition of the tournament seems to be in a bind because of the Club World cup scheduled to occur within the same period.
CAF wants the tournament to be held mid year in 2025 between June and July but the new 32 team FIFA Club World Cup format is set to hold between the 15th and 13th of the same months.
This has left the CAF leadership in a bit of a quagmire as they struggle to reconcile new dates for the tournament. Four clubs from the African continent are set to participate as Al Ahly of Egypt and Wydad Casablanca of Morocco have already qualified.
Conclusion
The AFCON 2025 looks like it is going to be exciting and full of surprises. As we wait for the qualifying draws to be done, there are a lot of expectations from fans and football enthusiasts around the world.
The last tournament which saw hosts, Côte d’Ivoire, win, has left fans desiring another great tournament.
