Police Arrest Yoruba Nation Agitator Responsible For 2023 Attack In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has officially announced the apprehension of Olamilekan Odofin, who had been declared wanted in connection to the January 9, 2023 attack in the state.

Odofin, along with others posing as Yoruba Nation Agitators, disrupted activities in Ojota, resulting in one confirmed death and the shooting of two police officers.

Although four suspects were initially arrested, Odofin remained elusive for a year until his recent capture.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed the arrest, stating that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

In his words;

“After over a year on the run, 34-year-old Olamilekan Odofin has been arrested by officers of Ayobo Division.

“The suspect, on January 9, 2023, championed attacks on motorists and the police under the guise of Yoruba Nation agitation. Investigation is ongoing.”
