Despite Young Sheldon‘s new streaming home making it more accessible, it’s actually bad news for the show’s upcoming final year. The Big Bang Theory prequel is ending its run on CBS as the Coopers prepare to say goodbye. This may have come as a surprise, but the network pulling the plug on the family comedy-drama is primarily motivated by its parent series’ continuity. Per The Big Bang Theory canon, Sheldon only has a year left in Medford, Texas before he leaves for Pasadena to begin his academic and professional stint at Caltech.
