Why It Doesn’t Matter That The Dark Knight Isn’t REALLY About Batman

The Dark Knight is widely considered the best entry in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy as well as one of the best superhero movies ever made, and it doesn’t matter that it isn’t really about Batman. The Caped Crusader’s film history has been full of ups and downs, and after hitting a low point with Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin in 1997, Batman was given a new chance in Nolan’s Batman Begins (2005). This was the beginning of a trilogy that presented a more grounded version of Batman (played by Christian Bale), and the second installment brought one of the best versions of the Dark Knight’s most famous enemy: the Joker (Heath Ledger).
