Why Aragorn Couldn’t Go To Mordor In Lord Of The Rings

Aragorn certainly fit the part of a classic hero, but it was never his role to bring the One Ring to Mordor in The Lord of the Rings. Though a far less traditional protagonist, Frodo was always the right choice to be the Ring-bearer, as proven by his successful mission to save Middle-earth from Sauron and his One Ring to rule them all. This wasn’t simply because Frodo volunteered and Aragorn did not. The true cleverness of this plot was in its unpredictability, with every member of the Fellowship of the Ring filling their role perfectly—especially Aragorn and Frodo.
