Where Was Mrs. Doubtfire Filmed? The Comedy’s Filming Locations Explained

The 1993 film Mrs. Doubtfire is an instantly recognizable comedy, and part of that is thanks to the very distinct locations in which it was filmed. Based on the 1987 novel by Anne Fine, Mrs. Doubtfire tells the story of Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams), a struggling actor. When his wife, Miranda (Sally Field), files for divorce and gains primary custody, Daniel is determined to do whatever it takes to stay in the lives of his kids, regardless of the restrictions placed against him. Using his acting skills, Daniel disguises himself as an elderly British woman named Euphegenia Doubtfire. He then gets a job as the family nanny in order to see his children.
