Marge Simpson is a complicated character. Since The Simpsons usually focuses on her husband Homer, Marge is often used as a supporting character in The Simpsons instead of occupying a main role. This is exacerbated by the fact that the series was originally intended to focus on Bart, while Lisa is creator Matt Groening’s favorite character. As such, Marge is the Simpson family member least likely to get stories focused on her internal life apart from Maggie, a baby who can’t speak yet.
