In Solar Opposites season 4, Terry finally offers an explanation for the series abandoning its original premise, and it is a surprisingly satisfying excuse. Solar Opposites debuted on Hulu in 2020 and immediately garnered criticism for its apparent similarity to Rick and Morty. Like that earlier Adult Swim hit, Solar Opposites was co-created by Justin Roiland and similarly had a premise that focused on sci-fi tropes.
