Superman & Lois Season 3 Improves On BvS’ Controversial Doomsday Retcon 7 Years Later

The DC Extended Universe’s depiction of Doomsday was controversial, but Superman and Lois managed to do a much better job at adapting the iconic DC Comics villain. Superman and Lois premiered on The CW in February 2021, first developed as a spinoff from Supergirl and intended to be a part of the “Arrowverse,” though after the dissolution of DC’s TV shared universe, Superman and Lois continued in a separate continuity, and has since delivered three seasons with a fourth confirmed. Separate from DC Studios’ theatrical releases, Superman and Lois was able to adapt similar storylines and sometimes has adapted these plots much better than Warner Bros. ever did.
