Star Wars’ Opening Crawl Was One Of George Lucas’ Last Changes – And Here’s Why He Made It
The opening crawl of Star Wars which has since become iconic was actually one of the last additions George Lucas made to the film, which he did for a very specific reason. Since the release of Star Wars in 1977, the opening crawl has featured in every theatrically-released, episodic film in the Skywalker Saga. The only two live-action films to be released in theaters without the opening crawl were Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Solo: A Star Wars Story.
