Star Wars Brings Back An Original Trilogy Fan-Favourite, Makes Legends Characterisation Canon
While he is not shown in Return of the Jedi, a beloved rebel pilot from the Star Wars Legends continuity is now confirmed to have participated in the Battle of Endor in the canon timeline. Wes Janson debuted as Wedge Antilles’s tail gunner at the Battle of Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back, with a well-placed shot from the turret’s harpoon gun allowing Wedge to tie up the legs of an Imperial AT-AT. Janson was further explored in other Legends-era materials (since the original trilogy belongs to both continuities), but he has had few appearances in the canon continuity.
