Star Trek Failed Bones McCoy With His Forgotten TNG Cameo

Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy (DeForest Kelley) made a small cameo in the series premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation, but it was a largely unmemorable scene that had nothing to do with the rest of the episode. TNG’s two-hour premiere, “Encounter at Farpoint,” introduced the world to Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the USS Enterprise-D. The plot of the episode involves an appearance by the god-like entity known as Q (John de Lancie) who intercepts the Enterprise on its way to Farpoint Station and puts the crew on trial for the crimes of humanity.
