Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Won’t Fix This Franchise Complaint If The Shadow Tease Is Anything To Go By

The mid-credits Shadow tease at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has set up Sonic the Hedgehog 3 to continue the biggest problem with this live-action franchise. Starring Ben Schwartz as the title character, the Sonic the Hedgehog movies have adapted the beloved video game series into a typical talking animal movie. They’re a lot of fun – especially with Jim Carrey’s scene-stealing turn as Dr. Robotnik – but they haven’t come close to exploring the full potential of the classic source material, because the movies have remained tethered to Earth.
