Scream 6’s First Ghostface Fakeout Finally Utilized Emma Roberts’ Scrapped Return

Scream 6 kicked off with a twist involving multiple Ghostfaces facing off against one another, which actually borrows from an unused storyline for Emma Roberts’ potential franchise return. While Scream has previously seen one Ghostface kill another, this has only been the case when one of the killers decides to take out their murderous partner. For instance, Scream 2 saw Mrs. Loomis shoot her accomplice Mickey while Scream 4 included Jill Roberts killing fellow Ghostface Charlie Walker. However, Scream 6’s twist-filled opening sequence included a long-awaited Ghostface battle that was originally going to serve as the basis for Jill’s unfulfilled return after Scream 4.
