Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone had the tough job of casting the beloved Harry Potter book characters for the first time, and these decisions had a major impact on Warner Bros’ future movie installments. This was especially true for the adult characters of the series. The movies just wouldn’t have been the same if Maggie Smith hadn’t been cast as Minerva McGonagall or if Alan Rickman had never been Severus Snape.
