Prey’s Unexpected Success Shows Disney The Way To Recover From Its 2023 Failures

Despite the fact that Disney had a less-than-good year with its new releases, hope isn’t entirely lost for the company, as one surprisingly well-received 2022 film, Prey, acts as a reminder of what Disney needs to do to succeed in the future. In 2023, Disney had 33 major movies to release, with 19 of them having a theatrical release. Unfortunately, many of these films turned out to be box office disappointments. For example, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, The Little Mermaid, and Elemental all performed under what was projected. Worse, many Disney films were received poorly in 2023. But, 2022’s Prey shows the way forward.
