Oppenheimer’s Controversial Sex Scenes Defended By Star: “They’re Not Gratuitous”
Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy defends the inclusion of several controversial sex scenes in Christopher Nolan’s new historical drama. Released last week to positive reviews and a strong showing at the box office, Nolan’s new movie stars Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, one of the key figures in the creation of the atomic bomb. The film is Nolan’s first to receive an R rating in more than 20 years and the first to feature explicit sex scenes, one of which has caused some controversy in India for the inclusion of the Bhagavad Gita.
