After 8 years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to commit arguably Iron Man‘s biggest mistake. When Tony Stark debuted in 2008, he was far from the devoted Avenger who sacrificed his life in Avengers: Endgame for the greater good. He was a self-centered war profiteer who couldn’t care less about anything else but himself. The character’s near-death experience in Afghanistan opened his eyes and motivated his desire to not just do good, but also make amends for all his crimes against humanity as a weapons manufacturer.
