Naruto’s Controversial Kaguya Reveal Was Actually Explained In The Anime

A common complaint about Boruto is that the sequel series unnecessarily retconned Naruto‘s Kaguya and the Otsutsuki clan into aliens and, in so doing, introduced an incongruent element to the franchise much too late. However, Naruto: Shippuden actually hinted that the Otsutsuki could be extraterrestrials by how the anime presented Kaguya’s backstory, which effectively foreshadowed the “twist” that was to come in Boruto.
