Taylor Sheridan’s Lawmen: Bass Reeves is yet another smashing success, and the Western series has the potential for a second season. Released in 2023, Lawmen: Bass Reeves tells the story of the eponymous main character who was the first Black deputy U.S. Marshall who served west of the Mississippi River. Though it was originally envisioned as a spinoff of the Yellowstone universe, Lawmen was later confirmed to exist in its own timeline that is separate from Sheridan’s smash-hit franchise. Nevertheless, the series delivers all the gripping Western action that is expected from one of the producer’s other programs.
