From Blade Runner to Shutter Island, these movies could have much more successful if they weren’t initially overshadowed by another release.

There’s been an unfortunately high number of movies throughout history where, no matter how impressive or popular the story is, its release has ultimately been overshadowed by the success of another project. This can happen for a number of different reasons: maybe the two films are too similar in themes and style, or maybe one has been building excitement for a little bit longer. Regardless, many of these movies sadly get lost in the popularity of their competitor and end up as box office failures.
