Disney’s Percy Jackson & The Olympian TV adaptation should not follow the movie series’ approach and stay true to one divisive character beat from the books. Following the failure of the Percy Jackson movies, Disney is giving the book series another shot by adapting it into a live-action TV series. Taking the television route is certainly a better approach to portraying Rick Riordan’s works in the live-action medium, given the richness of the world-building and lore in his books. However, the television show’s fate will primarily depend on how effectively it will traverse the author’s stories to the small screen and avoid the mistakes made by the movies.
