Disney’s New Alien Movie Is Restoring The Original’s Scariest Trick (& An Underrated 2016 Horror Proves It)
Fede Álvarez’s as-yet-untitled upcoming Alien movie is setting out to bring the franchise back to its horror roots by copying the most terrifying trick from the original film. The new Alien movie is part of Disney’s ongoing effort to cash in on all the lucrative franchises it acquired in its merger with 21st Century Fox. Starring Cailee Spaeny and Isabela Merced, the Alien sequel is scheduled to be released on August 16, 2024. It was originally slated for a straight-to-streaming release on Hulu, but it’s since shifted to a theatrical release so audiences can experience the intergalactic terror on the big screen.
