Disney’s Horror Reboot Is Great, But It’s Not The R.L. Stine Series We’re Still Waiting On

Disney is officially rebooting the Goosebumps show based on beloved children’s books from acclaimed horror author R.L. Stine, but another adaptation on streaming deserves attention. For many who grew up in the ’80s and ’90s, the Goosebumps books and TV show were a gateway into the horror genre. With such a cherished legacy, it’s no surprise that the franchise remains relevant. Before the upcoming TV reboot, the books were adapted into a feature film starring Jack Black as Stine alongside many of Goosebumps‘ most notorious monsters. The success of the 2015 movie also spawned a standalone sequel, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, in 2018.
