Christopher Nolan’s Breakout Movie Was Almost Rejected By Warner Bros. But One Director Saved It
Christopher Nolan is now one of the biggest writer/ directors in Hollywood, but he very nearly didn’t get the meeting at Warner Bros. to direct his breakout movie Insomnia until a fellow filmmaker stepped in. Insomnia was released in 2002 and was Nolan’s follow-up to 2000’s Memento, ultimately starting the filmmaker’s 18-year working relationship with Warner Bros. The film stars Al Pacino and Robin Williams, following an LA homicide detective who travels to a northern town in which the sun doesn’t set to investigate a brutal murder.
