The Transformers series is one of the highest-grossing movie franchises of all time, yet Transformers: Rise of the Beasts‘ box office performance was somewhat mixed. Despite the movie franchise getting new releases every two or three years since 2007, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts marks the first film in the series in five years since the prequel spinoff Bumblebee. The 2023 movie also marks the first proper Transformers movie in six years since 2017’s Transformers: The Last Knight. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is still a prequel, as the movie takes place after the events of Bumblebee but still before the events of 2007’s Transformers.
