Directed by Greta Gerwig, the Barbie movie is inching closer to the $1 billion mark (or “Barbillion” as it has been dubbed) at the box office. The movie based on the iconic Mattel doll has been overwhelmingly considered a winner by critics and moviegoers, and much of the appeal has stemmed from performances from the cast. Interestingly, one of the most prominent actresses involved in the movie never makes a direct appearance.
