Band Of Brothers: Did Speirs Really Run Through Foy?

In Band of Brothers, Lieutenant Ronald Speirs (Matthew Settle) is a man whose reputation precedes him – though Easy Company’s soldiers are never quite sure which of his famed exploits are true, such as whether he actually ran straight through an assault in Foy. As is expected by a drama series, Band of Brothers‘ true story adaptation makes a few changes along the way, leaving audiences to decipher which shocking events actually happened in real life. Lieutenant Speirs, in particular, embarks on some dangerous tasks in Band of Brothers, with his survival of the run across Foy appearing particularly implausible.
