"An Ideal Soulslike" – Lies Of P Review

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Lies of P is an incredibly earnest compliment. Neowiz Games and Round8 Studios have created a game which leans heavily on the conventions notably established by the ever-influential catalog of FromSoftware. In particular, Lies of P feels most inspired by Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, but this isn’t to say that Lies of P is derivative. Its practical mimicry is so thorough and convincing that it’s something of an ideal soulslike, capturing not only the idiosyncrasies of its progenitors, but also some of their pitfalls.
