Writer-director Mike Flanagan is known for working with the same actors multiple times, and Netflix’s The Fall of the House of Usher may see the most returning Flanagan veterans yet. The Fall of the House of Usher is adapted from Edgar Allan Poe’s short story of the same name. In the short story, an unnamed narrator goes to visit a childhood friend, Roderick Usher, and Roderick’s sister, Madeline, at their ancestral estate. Slowly, strange things start to happen and Roderick and Madeline succumb to both physical and mental degradation, dragging the narrator into a gothic nightmare.
