Saturday mornings in the 80s were inseparable from their cartoon lineups, and new first-person fantasy roguelite MythForce injects the resonant nostalgia for this era into an accessible multiplayer dungeon crawler. The concept presents an original animated universe as a slightly dopey brand which appears most equivalent to 1983’s classic Dungeons & Dragons animated series, but it makes for a surprisingly convincing ploy, thanks to some superb art direction and voice performances. As the staging for a satisfying combat system and grindy upgrade path, Mythforce is a solid adventure that’s further improved alongside online companions.
