The news about Paul’s very concerning, but a bit suspicious too. According to blogger John Yates, who gained permission to post Paul’s mother’s text chain with Paul, Paul’s lost in a remote area of Brazil, and trying to get help. So why did he text his mother instead of contacting authorities who might be able to save him? He asked his mother to contact them, but shouldn’t some survival instinct have kicked in, pushing him to contact first responders directly?
