The Marvel Cinematic Universe has set the gold standard for a profitable film franchise since the 2010s, and many studios have tried to replicate that success. Everything changed for the film industry with Iron Man in 2008, when Samuel L. Jackson appeared as Nick Fury in a post-credits scene to hint at the upcoming Avengers team-up.
