One of the most crucial elements to the success of Toho’s original Godzilla franchise was the colorful array of kaiju that the King of Monsters squared off against, but some of them had their massive potential wasted in one-off appearances. Ever since his first fight against Anguirus in Godzilla Raids Again, Big G’s movies have typically ended with him clashing with another monster, or in some cases multiple monsters with some of his backup. Anguirus appeared in several classic Toho movies and was eventually established as one of Godzilla’s most loyal allies.
