David Gordon Green has cast doubt on the possibility of returning to direct the sequels to The Exorcist: Believer, so which filmmakers could take Green’s place if he drops out? A direct sequel to William Friedkin’s 1973 horror masterpiece, The Exorcist: Believer revolves around two young girls getting possessed by a demon, and a desperate single father’s quest to save them. Green planned The Exorcist: Believer as the first chapter of a new trilogy, much like he did with the Halloween franchise from 2018 to 2022. But Green has told The Hollywood Reporter that he might not direct the sequels like he did with his Halloween trilogy.
