The truth of how Yoda hid himself from Palpatine has been revealed by Star Wars, 40 years after Return of the Jedi. Dagobah was initially thought to be Yoda’s home planet, as well as that of his unknown species, until the prequel Star Wars trilogy and more began to unravel Yoda’s past and clarified that he only lived there as a part of his self-decreed exile.
