4 Little-Known Frasier & Cheers Characters You Forgot Were On Both Shows
Aside from sharing a major character, Frasier and Cheers also shared several minor players. Before Kelsey Grammer spearheaded his own show based in Seattle, he was first introduced in the Boston-set Cheers. Originally Diane Chambers’ rebound boyfriend following her breakup with former baseball-star-turned-bar-owner Sam Malone, Frasier was supposedly only going to be a guest star. Thanks to his chemistry with the rest of the Cheers ensemble, he eventually became a show regular. He even stuck around even after Diane left her waitressing gig at the eponymous pub and stayed until the sitcom wrapped up in 1993. Frasier was so beloved, NBC awarded him his own show.
