If Thanos had lost in Avengers: Infinity War, and the Avengers had been able to stop the Mad Titan, the current world of the MCU would look very different. Marvel Studios’ first three Phases culminated in 2018’s epic crossover event, Avengers: Infinity War, bringing together all the MCU’s heroes in a battle against Josh Brolin’s Thanos. Although he was first teased in 2012’s The Avengers, Thanos began to embark on his mission to bring balance to the universe in Infinity War, seeking the Infinity Stones, which would allow him to wipe out half the universe’s population. He eventually succeeded, but had he lost, the MCU would look very different today.
