For all its acclaim as one of the best dramas on TV in the last ten years, Better Call Saul spends a lot of time pantomiming as a sitcom. Though Better Call Saul‘s progenitor series, Breaking Bad, certainly had its comedic moments, the charming and bombastic personality of Jimmy McGill compared to the relatively straight-laced Walter White means his own show gets away with a lot more laughs. In fact, series co-creator Peter Gould revealed that Better Call Saul originally had a sitcom format, with half-hour episodes driven by humor.
