Many movie franchises have made over a billion dollars at the global box office, but even still, some of them are currently dead. More recently, it is not too uncommon for a single movie to make a billion dollars, so the number of franchises that do has skyrocketed compared to the early days of the MCU or Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.
