1 Abandoned Alien 3 Plan Would Have Been WAY Worse Than What We Got

Alien 3 nearly ruined the Alien franchise with one of its worst movies, but it would’ve turned out even worse if the studio had chosen to use an earlier script. There were a few different incarnations of Alien 3 before 20th Century Fox finally settled on one. William Gibson wrote a script, David Twohy wrote a script, Walter Hill and David Giler wrote a script, and Vincent Ward pitched a story set on a wooden planet. Alien 3 ultimately ended up getting directed by David Fincher as his debut feature, and it sees Ellen Ripley landing on a prison planet full of dangerous convicts.
